30 young table tennis talents aged up to ten years competed in the district singles championships for C-schoolers in haarbrucken, germany. 14 clubs from seven of nine upper franconian table tennis districts sent participants to this competition organized by TTC thann.
Noah leffer from FC adler weidhausen won the upper franconian title among the 15 youngsters. Julia schenk from ATSV oberkotzau won the 15 girls’ category. The four best girls and four best boys will be nominated for the bavarian championship. To it from the TT circle lichtenfels oskar fiedler of the TTC unterzettlitz belongs.
Fiedler, who remained undefeated in his three group matches, did not reach the final, but still finished in third place. In the semifinals he had to give in to the late runner-up nils schlembach from SV berg. In the match for the third place they defeated miro reumschussel from TTG neustadt-wildenheid after four sets (11:4, 12:10, 8:11, 11:5). In the same category nils frohna from RVC klosterlangheim was also part of the team. He had a hard time in the strong field and remained winless. But for him the most important thing was to be there at all and to gain experience.
In the doubles oskar fiedler and the singles winner noah leffer did not lose a set, also in the final, and together they became district champions. They won the final against a duo from the district of hof with 11:8, 11:7 and 14:12.
In the girls’ competition eva eideloth and hannah schutz, both from RVC klosterlangheim, reached the field of the best eight players. Here eideloth met the later winner julia schenk. After her elimination, she was part of a quartet that played for places 5 to 8. After her success against elina meyer from TSV unterlauter, she had a tough match with her club mate hannah schutz – she had lost against the late "second" of the team lost, but then won against nelli eichhorn (TTC thann) – to do. Eidloth won 3:0 sets and finished in (best possible) fifth place. It is not impossible that she might still make it to the "bavarian" championships due to a dropout or a subsequent nomination with may.
In doubles eideloth and schutz played together. Since they had eliminated a formation from TTG neustadt among the seven pairs, they narrowly failed three times in the semifinals against the late runner-up duo with 10:12, 9:11 and 8:11 (third place).
